Yesterday, I along with Jeffrey, Brenda and Rene played truant to spectate and support a dear friend, Anna in the public speaking competition she was participating in at STAR, or rather Sekolah Tun Abdul Razak (I'd thought it was Tunku Abdul Rahman =.=). At first, I wasn't really interested in going, considering how it'd turned out the year before, but there was someone I wanted to see, so I decided to tag along. Not to mention 3 of my novels and my iPhone =P
Well, on the way there, Pn. Ng collided with a dog. A black one to be exact. This was what happened:
*Dog runs by*
*Brakes*
*Thud*
*Dog yelps*
*OMG!*
*Dog runs away unscathed*
Sometime later, we drove past a carcass of a dog (I think t'was a dog anyway). This one was brown, with only the torso and legs left. Didn't notice any sign of a head, and the torso was kinda.. ripped. Perhaps the powers that be wanted a life in exchange for the dog earlier o.o

Anyway, when we did get there, I was kinda disappointed with the venue. T'was a weak school, with at least ONE unsafe building and several others that looked quite old. Please, even Sunny Hill could beat that school in looks =.=
And the food was.. OSIK! Brenda commented on it being oily, and yeah, I had to agree. Not something a growing boy like me would wanna take o.o
Before we'd disembarked, I saw a girl in braces, or rather, Hannah Chen from SMK Green Road. Being the random guy, this was what happened:
Brenda (I think): Eh, Hannah Chen!
Me: Hey, look! Braces!
Pn. Ng: Andrew, I didn't bring you here to see girls..
Me (On the outside): I'm not looking at girls! *Goes indignant*
Me (On the inside): This is what happens when you're the Pervert King.. =.=
But at least.. my gamble paid off. It'd been a year since I'd last seen her in real life, but at least I got to see her again. And I didn't have to wait long. Immediately after we disembarked, she did too. Just. Meters. Away. OMG. I wanted to go say hi, but I was.. kinda timid =/
Oh, her name's Samantha. o.o
Barely a minute later, when we were all heading for the hall, she stopped beside us. I'm still unsure, but I suspect she was waiting for Revan, or rather, me to say hi (Apparently, she recognized our school logo and recalled I was from that school) but I never did, despite what the others did.
Rene: Aww, look! She's so sweet, just standing there by herself. Go say hi liao!
Me: ...Ugh! *Walks away*
Well, fast forward, we entered the hall, sat down, and I entered my ear-splitting, mind-numbing private world of SCANDAL songs with my iPhone, while Jeffrey and Rene did some kinda riddle, and as for Brenda.. no idea. xD
And when the participants blabbed, I barely heard. There were some amusing ones though, like the St. Joe guy who likened a marriage proposal to the exhilaration of goalscoring. But I did perk up my ears during 18 and 19. Which was St. Mary's participant (who happens to be the exact same girl I wanted to say hi to) and Anna. And they were superb. Worlds apart from the osik I'd been hearing from the participants before 'em.
And when she was halfway presenting her speech, I heard something that applies to me. Yes, SOMETHING.
Samantha: .........*Something about how using the Internet and handphones to communicate with others are cowardly compared to face to face confrontation*.......
Me: Oh fierfek. Oh crud.
Jeffrey: *Laughs* Coward!
Mind probing anyone? =.=
And then during lunch break pula..
Pn. Ng: Are you sure you don't want to eat?
Me: Nah, I'm not hungry.
Pn. Ng: Are you on diet or something?
Rene ar, for the last time, I'M NOT ON DIET!
Anyway, during the whole break, I was having a mental conflict with myself.
Me: Oh, for the love of God, GO SAY HI! The sky's not gonna fall down if you do!
Timid me: Not just yet, not just yet. Patience!
Me: Zzzzz, you're gonna regret this!
And when she came out to throw something, my timid side won:
Rene: *Glances and grins meaningfully*
Me: *Ignores*
Let's move on, shall we?
After the break, came the impromptu speech. To my utmost disappointment, everyone had the same topic.. seriously, did they never consider the fact that with everyone presenting a different topic, it might just have been more interesting? *Mutters mir'osik under breath*
The topic given was "If you don't start now, it'll be too late." Is it just me, or does it sound like a threat to the participants to be on time? o.o
Most of the contestants were bores, or rather mirsh'kyramud. Why, there was one who barely stood there for a minute delivering his speech, and finished after.. barely 20 seconds. Fierfek? Apparently, 30 minutes of quarantine wasn't enough time =/
And then something impossible popped up. I'd given up hope in saying hi to her, so I asked Anna to do so in my stead. However..
Anna: *Remembering what I asked of her, tries to find Samantha, to no avail.*
Me: Wait! Tell her Revan said hi.
Anna: YOU'RE REVAN?
Anna: *Goes on about how Samantha was asking about someone named Revan*
Me: Kandosii!!!
If I believed in God, I'd say "Divine intervention." *Shrugs*
Then..
Anna: *Walks over to Samantha*
Anna: Remember that Revan you were asking about just now?
Sam: Yes, why?
Anna: Well, he's here now.
Sam: Oh my God!
Anna: He's behind there right now *Points*
Sam: *Looks behind and sees my not so impressive visage*
Sam: *Grins and waves hi*
And then sometime later.. I think I did something crazy >.>
When she came over to the back to say hi to all of us, I..
Anna: He wants to talk to you.
Sam: *Looks in my direction*
Me: CanIhaveyourhandphonenumber?
Sam: I'll get back to you.
...Even Rene commented it sounded like I had a crush on her =.=
Ahhhhh, osik.
Anyway, at the end of the day, the verdict was.. surprising. Even upsetting.
We'd all thought that Anna and Sam would've gotten something. Apparently not, 'cause the top 3 were Hannah, Creedon, and Denise.
WTF? Fierfek! Ugh, the shabla judges really screwed up this time, 'cause the three of them were mediocre at best. M-E-D-I-O-C-R-E. Di'kut judges.
And Anna told this was something one of the judges told Sam:
"You thought you were funny, but you weren't."
Di'kut! Pure osik! The winners weren't amusing, as I can recall! Gedet'ye, those judges are flawed. Ori'buyce, kih'kovid. That pretty much sums 'em up.
